About me

Amy and I in Christmas '02

I’m an Army brat but spent eight years of my childhood in Iowa so I consider myself an Ioweigan.   My parents took me around the world – travelling was very much a part of the first 18 years of my life.   Places visted include: Europe (mainly Germany), London, Puerto Rico, and Japan.

I attended South  Dakota State  University in Brookings, South Dakota – Go Jacks!   That’s  where I got my BS in Computer Science in December of 2003 and returned to get my teacher’s certification.   Since 2005, I’ve been working as a software engineer (and later team lead) at Daktronics, Inc.  My other interests are music (on the worship team at Morningside Community Church), storm chasing, reading (fantasy, management, and professional development) and playing on my XBox.  I’m a Microsoft nut and will freely admit that I’ve drank the kool-aid. :)

I got married on July 2, 2005 to my wonderful, loving, and bestest  friend(Amy) since 1999.   We went to Denver, Colorado and stayed a bed & breakfast.   Trying to kill ourselves in every way imagineable, we went sky diving, white water rafting, horse back riding, Six Flags, and a Rockies game.   It was amazing!!

There is of course, the storm chasing.   I was intrigued since a boy when I was on the only roller coaster in Arnold’s Park, Iowa.   There was a tornado warning and we all had to evacuate to a building that probably wouldn’t have been any safer than staying on the roller coaster.   Anyways, nickle to quarter size hail fell and that was pretty much it.   Coming home that night, I watched the most beautiful lightning slowly cross horizontally across the horizon.   Absolutely stunning.
