The Summer Heat and…

How Photo Ops Keeps Me Cool

The air conditioner isn’t the only thing that’s been raising the utility bill of late.  I’ve been busy at the helm of my development machine and its hungry 500W power supply which has supprisingly increased our utility bill since we got the new computer.

Progress Slow But Sure

Anyways - over the last couple weeks, I’ve put in an average of about 10+ hours a week on Photo Ops.  To save myself a lot of money, I elected to do all the licensing implementation myself.  It does have many benefits though: 1) decreased initial investment, 2) decreased initial pricing of Photo Ops, 3) increase of skillset and knowledge, 4) easier to solve the bugs if I know where things could be going wrong.  So it’s all the better for the user.  Sadly, that has held up development on any new features to Photo Ops.  Like the new Harry Potter book, I just can’t give any details - but I am ecstatic about what’s going into the new version.  I will say that I’ve dropped the wizard and dialog modes to support a different setup that will be more adaptable to future features.

The Name Game

Another item that has been a thorn in my side since I decided to push ahead with marketing Photo Ops is finding a new website.  All the good domain names are being sat on by cyber-squatters waiting to make their plunder.  Obviously, I can’t post the ideas I have floating around in my head.  I will say that I’m not crazy about any of the ones I’ve come up with so far.  My wife has even taken to the cause and has put out some suggestions.  Regardless, Photo Ops will have a new name when it is released.

Beta-Testers Needed

If you’re interested in beta-testing new versions of Photo Ops, please get ahold of me through the contact form.  Participants must be willing to sign a NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and actively participate in beta-testing - ‘actively participate’ will be outlined in the NDA or additional information as well.

Stay tuned for more details - I’ll try to update progress at least once a month and then possibly weekly as we get into beta testing.
